Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive individual for the role of Buyer/Planner to join our team! This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely receipt of goods and services from outside suppliers to support our operations and meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with the planning team while maintaining efficient supplier relationships and managing the ERP system.

Job Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (flexible start time available)
  • Pay Rate: $31 to $33 per hour

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process all Outside Supplier Process (OSP) purchase orders to support company operations using the ERP system.
  • Issue and prepare purchase orders while ensuring proper documentation, including certifications of conformance and traceability, is received with purchased goods/services.
  • Track and confirm supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and recovery dates to align with customer demand and production operations.
  • Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and other vendor terms as needed.
  • Maintain continuous communication and healthy working relationships with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of items and services.
  • Work as a backup for planning functions, including launching work orders and issuing materials to production within the ERP system.
  • Monitor and maintain the accuracy of the ERP system, collaborating with the production control team to resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate and analyze daily reports related to purchase orders, milestones, and open orders.
  • Expedite orders and communicate updates, changes, or delays with the Production Control Manager.
  • Conduct purchase order contract reviews and assist with planning activities, including raw materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations).
  • Consistently follow company safety protocols and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning utilizing an ERP system.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred).
  • Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP database applications, particularly in managing procurement and logistics processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an ability to effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Computer proficiency, with intermediate or advanced skills in the Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and basic math skills to evaluate data and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • Sensitivity and adaptability when working with diverse perspectives and individuals.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequent use of a computer with dual monitors is required, with data entry work comprising approximately 50% of the time.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, type, and interact with tools and equipment.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift items up to 20 pounds unassisted. Must be comfortable pushing light, bulky items on a rolling cart.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment may involve moving materials, requiring the use of caution and alertness.
